To wine or not to wine! That is the question.

So... I have decided to become a wine drinker. The problem is I don't like the taste of wine. So I am determined to change my taste buds and acquire a taste. I am starting with white wines as the taste is sweeter than red wine. My first purchase was Barefoot Reisling. I only got down one glass last night. I have learned a few lessons in my wine tasting journey and that is this. . .
  • Lesson #1 - Don't drink reisling while eating mexican food. It doesn't taste good.
  • Lesson #2 - Strawberries and Reisling taste really good together.
  • Lesson #3 - Wine with corks are suppose to be better.

I am sure there is so much more to learn. I should try to go to a wine tasting event.

Flowers. . . they make me smile.

Looked out the window of my kitchen and noticed these beautiful flowers. I know the purple flowers are called Flocks (they smell really good) and the green ones are just a weed called Fox Tail. But the light purple and the one white flower is from a tree. I don't know the name of this flower. I will have to do a search on the Internet to find out the name of this flower. I love flowers, especially when they are free.

It's a keeper...

Well the Tex Mex Chicken turned out perfectly. It was so yummy! It's defiantly a keeper. I will make a few adjustments though the next time I make it. Like less corn and add black beans and cilantro. Otherwise it was pretty tasty.

Crock Pot

So I got my first crock pot about 8 years ago and I attempted to make a meal. It was pork chops and stuffing. I followed the directions and left the house while the food cooked away in the crockpot. When I returned home, I could smell something burning. You guessed it, it was my porkchops. Burnt to the bottom of the crockpot. After failing at that meal, I never used my crockpot to make a meal again. I would use it to warm up dips and soups. But never left if unattended.

Today, I decided to try it again. So over my lunch break a went home and made Tex-Mex Chicken. I have been at work worrying about coming home to find it burnt or not cooked. So now that its 5pm, I will head home to see what my dinner is going to look like.

Cross your fingers! (This is what it is suppose to look like)
